I decided not to use glue but to use 1/2 staples instead and just leave them in. As you can see it worked just fine

I just need to put in screws and adjust to a height of about 14 inches, add a zipper, and spray on some Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric Spray (VS 11 Charcoal Gray)
