Construction of Knees
After planing the board to 1" thickness, I used my jigsaw to cut the oval patterns out. I am using the step down method with the knees, the middle knee section being the longest. From the side view this will be visible.
Next step was to router the top and bottom edges. I used a router table and 5/8" 45% angle router bit and adjusted the height just under a 1/2 inch cut. This gives me a little to work with when sanding to the desired finish.
